Hi,

I have been reading your blog posts for a long time now and I love to come to again and again but I am kinda taken aback at your approval and use of Soy Milk. There are lot of reports talking of the ill benefits of soy milk and you can find them on every health site of repute - mercola, natural news, etc. They say that soy is best had only in fermented form like natto and tempeh and this is how it was eaten in Asian cuisines like Japan for centuries without having any ill effects. The recent modern age versions of soy like its milk and tofu have estrogen-mimicking properties which can play havoc with the body hormones of both males and females.

Doing exercise thrice a week is also fine, as your body needs rest. This applies for people who want to be fit but people who want to build muscles the training is very different.

I see that having a healthy breakfast is very important to you. What could be simpler than getting all the nutrition you need to start the day in just one glass?

Check out Shape magazine’s Simple-to-Make Smoothies that boost your protein, vitamin, mineral, antioxidant, and fiber intake in the pulse of a blender.

http://www.shape.com/healthy_eating/meals_and_menus/breakfast/quick_&_healthy/simple_to_make_smoothies

For example, if you top your smoothie with 1-2 tablespoons of wheat germ, you’ll receive an excellent source of fiber, folate, and the antioxidant vitamin E!

Thanks for all the good info on vitamins you've been providing on this site. Vitamin D has been getting lots of attention lately in the health world as research keeps establishing more benefits. A strong connection has recently been found between low blood levels of vitamin D and congestive heart failure. Also there is a lot of research going on to investigate possible benefits of vitamin D in preventing some cancers.

I started playing DDR last month, and after playing it for 30 minutes a day, i lost several much hated pounds. Also when i got back into soccer i could tell that i was more fit than most of the other girls. It did help me get back in shape during the cold months that no one wants to go outside in. Yes, i know that its not a replacement for going outside, but I've had lots of fun playing, and I'm glad i spent the money on the home version

Depending on which HRM you have it may work out your minimum and maximum and you training zones from an easy test that it has built into its soft-ware. There are a few different ways of looking at this use the upper and lower setting as a guide for when you are training in a zone or are you using it as your "absolute" minimum and maximum heart rate.

As the founder of the Purdue University DDR club, I'm a little miffed that you pass off this fantastic game as a mere 'child's toy'. The Purdue DDR club has dozens of active members, most of whom are in fantastic shape, who meet every week to interact together. Implying that DDR does not encourage social interaction is an enormous fallacy, one that reeks of the common stereotype that people who play video games are social inept basement dwellers. Also, sure you won't get fit playing DDR once or twice per week, but an hour or two a day, five times a week on heavy mode? It's like sprinting in place. The cardiovascular benefits have been proven, not to mention the fact that it improves balance and reaction time.

You might also be interested in knowing that the median age for people who play video games is 33. Video games are not just toys for children, just like any entertainment medium is not restricted to just one age group. Sure, there are games for children, but there are also games for adults.

Remember when parents actually raised their children instead of letting others do it for them? Any parent who buys this game as a replacement for actively encouraging their children to get outside and exercise should have their parenting license revoked. That said, there's nothing wrong with the game itself.

Hi everyone! My name is Martin and I come from Switzerland.

Since I was five years old I had problems with allergies to flowers and trees and I would have asthma attacks in spring and summer. I had a lot of problems breathing normally so my parents took me to a doctor and he told me that I should get therapy to treat these allergies. Every 2 weeks I had to go to the doctors for an injection. Things improved a little, but it was still very often difficult to just do simple things.

I was prayed for, which helped me more than all the previous treatments. At roughly the same time our assembly learned about the food laws in the Bible and the dangerous E-additives in our food. We discovered that some of the E-stuff could be especially dangerous for me.

I made the decision to remove all food that included bad E-additives. Some weeks later I discovered that I had virtually no problems breathing. The next time the doctor asked me if I still had problems with asthma (many people have problems in the summer because of the high pollen level in the air), he was very surprised to hear about my improved condition and that I had no breathing problems.

Prayer and eating correctly I was completely healed. I do not take medication any more and I no longer have any of those terrible asthma attacks. Praise the Lord, that we now eat healthy food, and that the Lord healed me, and that did this mirical and has already taught us in His word which food is good or bad for our bodies.

Paul McCartney is vegan for ethical reasons. The Dalia Lama should also abstain from eating meat because a fundamental tenant of Buddhism is to do no harm to sentient creatures. the Dalia Lama has been seen eating obscene amounts of veal , calve cheeks, pate de foi gras. This is simular to Catholic priests fondling choir boys. It is hypocritical. there is plenty of holistic, organic advice on vegetarian nutrition. It is a matter of desire to right living and right livelihood. Paul Mc Cartney exhibs this , the Dalia lama does not.

As a professional cook for over twenty years, I can say with certainty that many dangerous foods are regularly prepared and consumed by people in the U.S. - Salmonella (an outbreak of which is currently in the news, from peanut butter) Trichinosis, and the dreaded E. coli (of Jack-In-The-Box fame) may all be present in many common foods, including vegetables. Cooks in the U.S. must take a food-handler course and be 'licensed' as such, proving that they have been trained to safely prepare foods that may be contaminated with these and other potentially lethal micro-organisms. Poultry (including eggs), pork, and beef are all dangerous foods if improperly handled: even with modern cooking practices and industrialized kitchens, food-poisoning is unfortunately still quite common.

Think about that the next time you order eggs over-easy or a rare hamburger.
